Rick Burns
Rick and his wife Mary have been members of the Center Grove church family since 2002. They have been married 43 years and have three children, Jillian, who is married to Bob Van Daley with granddaughter Valerie, and sons Richard and Andy.
Rick was born in Grand Haven, MI, then moved to Indiana and attended college at Purdue University. In 1982 Rick took a job with McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) where he worked until he retired in 2020. Rick is now a part-time instructor in the Mechanical Engineering department of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Rick enjoys teaching Scripture, especially to those new to the faith, and loves to talk about the Lord’s vision for His people at Center Grove. (He also enjoys talking about airplanes by the way.) Rick’s hope for the Center Grove family, besides general spiritual growth in the knowledge of Christ, is that we become a church that asks the Lord for the impossible!
His favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:38-39: “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, not things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else on all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
